Greystar Endorses Blake Investment Partners’ Proposal to Redevelop St. Petersburg’s Historic Gas Plant District
St. Petersburg, Fla. — Greystar Real Estate Partners, LLC (“Greystar”), a global leader in the investment, development, and management of real estate, today announced its endorsement of Blake Investment Partners’ unsolicited proposal to the City of St. Petersburg to redevelop the Historic Gas Plant District.
Greystar’s endorsement reinforces its long-term commitment to the St. Petersburg market following the successful completion of several major projects, including the Ascent Apartments and AC Marriott Hotel downtown, the Marlowe Gateway Apartments and Gateway Logistics Center in North St. Petersburg, and its current project, The Henry at Whitney Village. The Henry, developed in partnership with Blake Investment Partners, is transforming a portion of the Jim & Heather Gills YMCA campus into a premier mixed-use destination. The project remains on schedule and on budget, serving as a model for Greystar’s ability to deliver institutional-quality housing alongside community-focused retail in high-growth urban corridors.
“Our collaboration with Blake Investment Partners has been defined by trust and a shared vision for the Grand Central District and St. Petersburg,” said David King, Managing Director of Development for Greystar. “Following the success of our initial YMCA project, we are excited to support the Blake team on this proposal and look forward to being part of this important and historic redevelopment.”
Greystar’s expansion in the region is supported by its vertically integrated global platform, which oversees approximately $320 billion in real estate assets worldwide, including approximately $78 billion in assets under management through its investment and development platform. Partnering with Blake Investment Partners combines Greystar’s global scale and delivery expertise with Blake’s deep local roots and longstanding commitment to St. Petersburg.
