Blake Investment Partners Assembles Expert Development Team for Historic Gas Plant District Proposal
St. Petersburg, Fla. — Blake Investment Partners (BIP) announced in a video released Monday key members of its development, construction, and infrastructure team supporting its proposal to redevelop the Historic Gas Plant District, highlighting extensive experience in large-scale land development, infrastructure delivery, and local project management.
“You shouldn’t get to bid on the Historic Gas Plant District unless you are an expert in land development,” said Cole Sones, partner at Blake Investment Partners. “We’ve bought hundreds of real estate projects. Our latest project, Emerald Lakes, is on the east coast of Florida. It’s 1,100 acres, with more than 2.8 million square feet of commercial space and over 2,600 residential units—more than 11 times the size of the Historic Gas Plant.”
BIP’s team includes nationally recognized construction and infrastructure partners, as well as firms with deep roots in St. Petersburg.

Local construction oversight will be provided by MODO, a St. Petersburg-based construction project management firm.
“Our firm provides best-in-class construction project management in St. Pete,” said Donald Odom Jr., president of MODO.
Municipal infrastructure planning and engineering will be supported by Wade Trim, a nationally recognized firm with a significant presence across the Southeast.
“Wade Trim is the best municipal infrastructure engineer in the Southeast region, with close to a thousand employees, and we have joined the Blake Investment Partners team,” said Samantha Graybill, professional engineer at Wade Trim.
BIP has also partnered with Greystar Real Estate Partners, the largest apartment developer in the United States and an existing joint-venture partner with Blake Investment Partners.
“It’s very unlikely anybody has the track record that our team has,” Sones added.
